They do something like that here, you know. The grass that grows here in the summers turns a dull brown in the winter. Not as blinding as snow, but almost as boring to look at. Some people overseed with ryegrass so the lawns will be green in the winter, but that has its own set of problems (it has to be mowed, for one). So, some people buy gallons and gallons of green dye, and spray paint their dull brown lawns green. It isn't quite as pretty a green as real, growing grass, but at least it doesn't have to be mowed.
