*sigh* I'm loosing my touch. (Warning: Hi-jacked by Em)

Brown is the sign of the returning WINTER - the time of slumber and SNOW and COLD and BITTER WINDS. Brown is the reminder that we have little time left before the LONG COLD WINTER!

GREEN is good - the sign of regeneration.

I've forgotten. Which is it that Alaskan wants?

Brown is the color of wood, that gives us lovely warm fire....brown is the color of the earth, when the snow die die dies, brown is the color of bug guts that Alaskan smushed into Sour's carpet.

"Bug guts"? Isn't that a bit harsh? The Princess is less than thrilled with Alaskan. It is wise to remember that she is the grand daughter of a caravan Gypsy queen and has many of the powers that follow with that lineage. Expecting an especially long and harsh winter, Alaskan?

Better cut lots of wood. She is royally ticked.

Caterpillars? Like, eat up your entire vegetable garden caterpillars? Eat up every single leaf on our lovely tree caterpillars?

Or caterpillars, like the giant machines that push away evil mounds of snow?

I inadvertently left the door open to the hall bathroom. Yep, you guessed it the pigs got in and urinated on both throw rugs and the sink cabinet. All this after I had walked them for 20 minutes outside. I don't get it. I have never dealt with dogs like this. They were both castrated at 8 weeks old. Early neutering was frowned upon 50+ years ago when I worked with a veterinarian. I wonder if this is part of the problem. I have never seen dogs with such a desire to mark/urinate. Is it a breed thing? Neat little personalities, but these dogs are pigs. I really will be glad to see them go.

I'm a patient man with animals, but these dogs have about worn me out.

I am far from an expert on such matters; all I have to go on is hearsay and observation. I've heard it said that you can get a lot of behavior problems in animals that are bred because they are popular rather than for any function that they perform. I've heard of some real head cases among Cavs and Cockers, for example (I hear that the head is part of the problem). I haven't dealt with pedigreed dogs, but Critter and I have had several rescued mixed-breed littermates that had been abandoned. Some turned out to be great dogs, others definitely had a screw loose - it can't be all environment, when one brother is sweet and stable and the other a flake! Pugs had a surge in popularity after the movie Milo and Otis came out, and I suspect the selection process for breeding animals wasn't too rigorous. I wonder if nascent behavior issues may have been part of the reason that the breeder wanted to euth these two?
