That's a pointIf it is metal in the water, the free-rangers could be getting their water from another source. I know with other animals, heavy metals in the water will impact their kidneys, and it can do permanent damage.

I just lost the chicks. Well, all but one.
We did a really throurough search of my and my neighbors' properties. I think they are gone.
Yup
At least my missing hen returned
I am having seriously slow issues with my internet today.
It's taking me forever to send a message.

Holy crap! Rough. The storm blew over the coop with the littles. I could only find one chick. I think the others got blown away. Literally.
We have woods on one side, fields on two adjacent sides and a high speed road on the remaining side.
I have little hope of finding them. I don't even know where to start looking.
This is a bad luck betty of a thread. I lost my last Speckled Sussex pullet this morning to that damn coyote. Saw the greedy bugger coming back for a second one and he ran off. Same one that got my cat (he's doing great, btw).@KikisGirls @BlackHackle @Tesumph @honanbm WAKE UP!!!! Most of the squad is believed to be dead.
The only survivor is either Pemba or Lindi but without the other to compare to I don't know which. I've decided the make will be dubbed Pemba and the female Lindi.
The chick is 1 month old. Gender guess? It's in a towel because the poor baby was soaked.
