Silkie breeding, genetics & showing

I just had the pleasure of meeting him. He really IS a nice guy. He gave me LOADS of his time and toured me through all of his birds at the show. l can't tell you how much I learned. I'm still trying to digest it all.

Please share some of the things you learned!!

I am planning to breed BBS and am hatching eggs from different breeders to get started.  I purchased eggs that have some colors I will not be using so plan to sell the chicks that I do not need.  Is there any advantage to keeping whites if they are typie?  I am not sure but I thought I read you can breed white cocks with colored females?
breeding a white to a non-white is unpredictable. Do not expect chicks to be standard colours. Which parent is white and which is non-white makes no difference.

So handsome! He doesn't even look like a cockerel! He looks like my pullet.

I have just done the same thing with one of my blues. He looked like a pullet until about a week ago. Now he is definitely a boy and I have to move him.

My pullet has NO comb so i'm assuming she's a pullet, also my rooster loves her lol
