Thank you for the advice. I will do that. As for the bathing/grooming, the cooking spray is probably the best quick and easy idea I have. When we get ready for a show, we use three buckets lined up in our bathroom tub to dip the birds in followed by blow drying.

That's so much work, but I'm sure it's even more fun (the shows). I'm so paranoid that I change out my boots before goin' near my birds ... don't reckon I'll ever take 'em off this farm, unless it's in a picnic basket ~'-)

I know what you mean about being paranoid. At least I do have a separate pair of boots that I wear here on the farm.

It can be a lot of work, shows included, but working for ourselves on the farm with the chickens has been the most rewarding work I've ever done.

No doubt ... I've callouses upon a layer of older ones, but would rather work in the cold rain, and curse the clay mud under my feet, than tolerate even the most comfortable climate of any office.
Speaking of which ... there's a bit of wiring I can finish, if I get back out the door (under which the cord now runs ~'-)

:: edit :: nearly forgot ... the boots. I've used OdoBan since it was first introduced, and it's one very effective disinfectant/mildewstat/virucide/sanitizer. Extremely mild/safe; it costs about ten bucks per gallon, but makes thirty-two ... that's less than 35¢ per gallon :: /edit ::

Thanks for the idea of spraying the oil!! Never thought about that!! I was trying to apply oil with a paper towel, and spraying would work much better!!!
