Silkie cross w/shiny neck feathers?

I know silkies are considered the most difficult to sex. Mine is a cross/smooth feathered and will be 4 months this weekend. It doesn't have pointy sickle or hackle feathers really, but its feathers overall are different than any of my other hens, including the other its age, which is a barred rock. One thing I noticed recently is the new neck feathers that are just losing their sheath from pin feathers are really shiny. Is this indicative of male hackle feathers or just because they're literally brand new/not dusty? The Barred rock of the same age that I'm convinced is a pullet for several reasons also has really glistening neck feathers too. So I'm really confused. Given this silkie is a cross with abnormal feathers to being with (they are softer/finer than my others), there's not much for resources and pics to compare with online. This is a really unique bird in that I've only found one similar one in online pictures. Any insight would be ever so appreciated. I'd love opinions!

Wow....really? A pullet?! I want it to be a pullet, but have been more and more certain it was a cockerel. It's demeanor is very assertive. It stands up super straight and makes itself known, almost seeming to say, "I'm here, I'm large and I'm in charge" (even though it's noticeably smaller than the barred rock of the same age). It did have two longer tail feathers for a short time, but lost them a week or two ago now.
