yay!!!!!
hmmm, since everyone is running two days behind i'd wait another day, which is pure torture though I know. good luck either way!!So I have 4 chicks that hatched on the 22nd (shouldve hatched on the 20th..they were 2 days late) and 4 eggs left that should've hatched on the 22nd...should I candle them tonight or leave them?
before lockdown, i'm at mid 40's to upper 40's. this last batch I let it get down to lower 40's and my weights were off, so I boosted my humidity to high 40's up to 50 from day 7-10 and weights are almost where they need to be now. so on next time around will stick more with mid to upper 40's for sure. this is what works with my incubator though, but had awesome hatch with last time around, 16 out of 18 and 2 were late quitters. this time around have 9 viable out of 12, one was clear, 2 w/ bloodrings, and one of the blood ring eggs was really porous and was the odd one that only showed development on half early on.... so hopeful for these 9. all shipped, I do have one saddle shaped air cell tho, hope the little bugger makes it... hope this helps some as I seem to have blabbed away, lol@KV Silkies what did you run your humidity at before lock down?
sad for the shrinkwrapping, but woohoo on chicks! it's all a learning experience every time it seems. can't wait for some more pics!Okay, I have three shrink wrapped in the shell, 4 hatched, four pipped/zipping.
I know what went wrong, I did not increase my humidity early enough and these guys just got squeezed right out, we'll at least the first one. I haven't removed the two others yet.
Aww. Tell us...well, maybe just me. I haven't read the whole thread. Anyway.
Still air or forced? Temperature? Incubator? Humidity?
