She seems really small/young to me as well but he is still mounting her and she is still trying to lay on eggs. Her face is kinda reddish but like you said it’s hard to tell.Ok, eggs.
She doesn’t really look old enough to lay yet, but the black skin kinda hides the redness that most pullets get when they start laying.
@aart has a great article that I can never find on ways to tell if they are laying. I have some size comparison pics, if I can find them.
My silkies’ eggs were always very smooth and almost shiny, and more oblong shaped. My cochins are more matte finish, and typical fat end/pointy end eggs, or more round. If that helps any.
