Thanks all for your input. Well the mystery is solved, Buttons is a boy! He was crowing this morning. This would explain his mood change too. Was such a sweet little chicken. Would follow me everywhere. Sat on my feet and like to be petted. The past few weeks he has been avoiding me and freaks out when I pick him up. Rooster mod swings So is he a banty? Buttons is just over 2 lbs and has very fluffy legs and feet. I read that banty silkies have very fluffy feet.

If he's only two pounds I would think bantam.
