I will continue hoping then! It's hard to start a breeding pen with only cockerels

We have quite the chorus in the morning. Fizz Bang is a VERY vocal guy, then Nu and Heavy get going, slow at first but then they ramp up, then Chonkers starts chiming in followed by JetPack. Cracker Jack doesn't crow often, he's hard to catch. But with 5 boys vying to be the farm's top crower, oh my!

JetPack and Chonkers are getting more development to their crows now, they're still comical but resemble a crow a good bit more than they used to

Oh I love hearing a chorus of crowers! One sounds off, then another answers him, and so on. Yes, cockerels sound pretty broken for a while. Love roosters!! ❤❤❤❤

Cappy Llama was out of the nesting box all weekend so I thought we were free and clear of broody time, but yesterday she decided to go back to egg sitting. As soon as Cappy got out of the nest this weekend, Base went in, so now I have 2 broody, again / still.

I don't think it gets anymore adorable than Base here. What a cutie pie, heart melting stuff! ❤ You are going to be knee deep in broodies come spring.

She's pretty fluffy for a hatchery white from what I've seen! She has fused back toes though, I don't know silkie genetics yet to know how to fix that, but she's got a very nice crest

As long as I get enough eggs from them to hatch / sell enough to show some financial return from my silkie investment I have a feeling there will be broodies EVERYWHERE though

Done! He is entered thanks for the suggestion! He's still just this cute little bustle of character. He likes to go around with his chest puffed out as big as he can get. I think he has more character than Chonkers.
