Oh boy, i’m already thinking about spring egg hatching. It’s only fall

It's never too early! I'm trying to plan out my breeding pens, brooders, and grow out pens. Which chickens I'm keeping, who I'm breeding to who, and if I need to buy more pullets from the breeder....

Me too! My favorite EE was named Spazzy and she laid a tan egg on the only shelf in the coop. Maybe 5ft off the ground, I have no idea how she'd make it up there. She would lay it perfectly balanced right on the edge evert day.

Ha! My girl too made it up on a chest high shelf. Hilda, crazy bird! I had moved her into the new coop and she had to lay that morning. Earlier I had caught her in the window, she was on the shelf at that time as I was walking up to the coop. I had no idea what she was doing up there. Later I found an egg. Another the next day. She gave up by the third day and used the nest boxes.

Wow, everyone is just gorgeous here! The boys are quite handsome looking, especially Storm, what a stunning guy! ❤ Love the Chocolates, such a nice color on a Silkie. I'm just keeping Chonkers for his chocolate genes (well, and he's the hubbys favorite so we have to keep him) so if he chocolate is leaking out over his paint feathers, I'm ok with that I'll see what actually happens, but one idea I have is to use Chonkers to get my chocolate breeding pen filled up with all the ladies I want then find another chocolate roo. It will depend on the quality he produces too. Honestly, I have no clue what I'll end up doing
