It was Maple one of my EE's from TSC! They are so vibrant, I love the addition to the flock! She's really dark with some white feathering on her neck.
OMG, I LOVE the cape!!I'm really looking forward to the weekend! I don't think we have any plans, which will be perfecttomorrow night we're going to a benefit after work for our friend, still in the hospital... then hopefully a lot of chicken hang out time Saturday, I do need to clean coops too.

I also made some mayak eggs tonight, if you have never tried them, I highly recommend them! There's many variations online if you look for recipes, but it's basically hard boiled eggs brined in soy sauce, water (about a 2:1) some chili pepper flakes, as many or few as you'd like. Too watery, add more soy sauce, too salty, add more water. Throw in the eggs, then try to not eat them for an hour or more. I typically dive in after about 15 minutes, but I've kept them a week or two, they just get more and more salty

I have never tried Mayak eggs! I am allergic to soy to soy sauce is off the list. But those eggs do look good! Glad you are enjoying them!!

What I've read on the EE genetics is there are only white eggs and blue eggs as far as the shell goes, then all shades of greens and browns are just printed on the outside, so a tan or brown coating over a blue shell makes the egg look green. It's really cool! I really like having a few EEs around, for their beautiful eggs and unique feather colorings!
The feathered feet are so adorable, I'm hoping they will be ok through our winters. They should be though, I have the runs covered so that helps with the mud and muck.
There's at least one, and I think 2 trying to crow. This satin I busted making a high potched shrieking / sneezing noise, kinda like it had been pecked really hard

I have to read labels carefully. Lately gluten is starting to bother me too... *sigh*. Eating can be brutally boring! I love those chocolate eggs, I think Marans lay chocolate? I'd love to get some of those one day. Love colorful egg baskets! I wonder what they think of their crowing? 
I've gone running up to the coop thinking somebody is badly hurt only to find a youngster trying to crow. Pretty cute though. The cockerel that gets the crowing award is adorable! I love these drawings you are adding to your photos, always gets me grinning.

Even trace amounts of dairy mess me up for about a week, massive sore throat and fatigue once, it swells my throat shut. I don't do peanuts either, better without gluten but not horrible eating it. Well, it's weekend, get some rest, enjoy some quiet time if you can and give those babies some lovin' for me!
I was joking that my arm candy is going to ride my shop candy, but wow, that's a good looking sight to see! So I did a mad dash of swapping the handle bars and risers back to stock and a few other things this morning, took about 4 hours total, I was being super careful to be sure I didn't scratch anything. Could have gone faster but didn't want to risk a ding. 
Oh gosh, we are dairy allergy twins, I too get all kinds of swelling from the stomach, up the esophagus and throat, the pain is horrible! And yes, the throat nearly clamps shut! My stomach feels like it's going to explode, takes days to recover. When I was younger dairy only effected my intestines but over the years my allergy to it obviously got worse. Now my body wants nothing to do with it. I was never a milk drinker but I did love yogurt and ice cream.... no more.Oh wow, you have to be very careful with food! Our "relaxing no plans weekend" didn't go as planned. Not in a bad way, ended up swapping a motorcycle I don't ride much for a really awesome older bike, it will be a collector for us, my hubby will ride it now and again, and I will enjoy the view from my favorite bike that I love riding, my Triumph

One of my friends at work was upset the other day so I started sending her the silkie doodles, she said to stop sending her things that were making her giggle when she was irritated
You and I NEED to avoid Dairy!
I have only been on one motorcycle once in my life. I was 17 years old. A friend's boyfriend coaxed me to get on the back of his Harley and he'd give me a ride. Good grief, he went speeding down the road to what felt like 100 miles an hour. It was loud, and way too fast for me, terrified the crud right out of me and I've never been on one since! 
Seems like only yesterday they hatched! SO freaking adorable! ❤❤❤ And yes, your Silkie doodles will pull anybody out of a funk for sure! One can't but help to giggle and laugh!! Love them!! Beautiful boy. 
How cold is it getting over night? We are starting to see 37 or 38, fall is definitely arriving! We are working on the wood pile this weekend, cutting firewood. I think we have enough for the winter now.
