It looks light blue to me. I don't think lavender because the coloring doesn't look even. I'm not all that familiar with paints, so I'm not sure what all goes with mixing them with other colors (especially white). They're beautiful!

While looking up some TCM info, black boned chicken came up. Just in case you haven't seen this article before http://www.itmonline.org/arts/wuchi.htm it talks a bit about silkies as well as the use of black boned chicken in TCM.
That is actually why I chose them! Mine hasn't gone broody yet but I had a man incubate the eggs for me (the deal was I'd get 1/4 of the hatched chicks but I wound up taking 5/7 and trading some chicks he was interested in that I was trying to offload anyway). Anyway there was only 1 egg of hers that didn't hatch, so that is awesome!They're awesome layers...until they go broody. And they will...over and over and over and over... Lol
