Hi,
One of my beloved 9 week old chicks just died (RIP Maybe) and i do not know what the cause was. I started off with three and now have![]()
two. they are living in a box in our kitchen with a feeder full of medicated chick feed and clean water (in a feeder also) they have bedding
(wood shavings) and the box is big enough to run around in. what could i change so the others don't die? should i let them outside for part of
the day?
ANY help would be very appreciated
thank you,
Chloe
Do you have a light on them? They need to stay warm.
they are right next to a heater and our house is constantly heated in between 72 and 76 degrees ferenheit
is that warm enough?
Yup that's normal, the more shredded the better =) The wing feathers are fine too,it's normal they may have just been pulled out.Can anyone tell me if my 8 week old Silkies' wing feathers are "normal". They are looking kind of ragged and I didn't know if that is normal or a clue that they are lacking in something(like protein maybe) The Black one seems to have the most ragged look to them.
White
Black
Partridge?
I am also worried that I found a couple of wing feathers in their box when I was putting them to bed tonight...Is this normal?
This is my first set of Silkies and I want to make sure they are getting everything they need
Ok thanks! good to know!Yup that's normal, the more shredded the better =) The wing feathers are fine too,it's normal they may have just been pulled out.
