Black with pigment holes in the feet.
Both wing tips are white, the down on his feet is white, and there's a white patch on one hock. Do you think he will retain that?

I was sold a supposedly one year old silkie hen. Was told she had been laying awhile and that she had just finished setting. Now reading more and that roosters and hens can be similar, I'm just worried that she's not a she. No crowing had occurred, but she's not even half the size of my red sex links, my buff and my EE. What do you guys think?![]()

Sorry I'm quoting myself, but can anyone answer this?Has anyone ever gotten any silkies from Spring Hill Poultry Conservatory? I saw several ads for chicks and eggs on Craigslist. One ad says it's located in Sandy Hill FL and another says Spring Hill Fl. They look to be the same thing tho. It says it's dedicated to preserve heritage poultry, so I'm assuming they're good quaility.
Not very likely. Black chicks often have bits of white. Adult feathers will come in black. Both wing tips are white, the down on his feet is white, and there's a white patch on one hock. Do you think he will retain that?
only 4 toes, and comb is wrong. 100% not a silkie. even if it was a silkie mix it would have a Walnut comb witch is a dominant gene. i vote D'Uccle
