I have not noticed any diffferences in temperatures or humidity that are needed. I usually run all my chicken eggs at 40-50% humidity and then up to 60-65% for hatching and temps at 99.5 to 100 the whole time.
My pullets typically start laying at 6 to 7 months of age, although I have had one or two that held out until they were 8 or 9 months old. I can typically take a good guess at 4 to 5 months on sex. Though I am not always correct! The more young silkies you look at, the better you get at sexing them at younger ages. I always say though you can not know for sure without a crow or an egg. My first broody silkie hen laid about 16 eggs then went broody on me but her sister so far won't stop laying and has no interest in sitting.
If all the persons birds are bearded, then you should not get unbearded babies unless they have unbearded bloodlines recent in their background. The nonbearded version is just another version of the breed. It just depends on what your preferences are.
Edited for hilarious typo!
