My first broody silkie hen laid about 16 eggs then went broody on me but her sister so far won't stop laying and has no interest in sitting.

If all the persons birds are bearded, then you should not get unbearded babies unless they have unbearded bloodlines recent in their background. The nonbearded version is just another version of the breed. It just depends on what your preferences are.

Hey all you silkie peeps. Pam B. has really nice birds and I actually had her daughter show two of my babies this weekend. Her daughter won First Place with them!!! Definitely check out her website and take a peek at all the gorgeous Silkies she has. They look even more amazing in person!! I also just purchased three babies from her and I can't say enough about how loving and wonderful these babies are!!

She is my earliest silkie layer and she is the one that fooled me into thinking she was a sweet little boy!!! Hence, how she got the name Charlie! LOL I am still waiting on 7 month olds to start laying too.
I agree, the more youngsters you see, the better you will get at guessing their sex, but you always have that one or two that fool you!!!
