You're welcome! I'm just hoping all the info applies to silkies!
On the more complex version of the Chicken Calculator http://kippenjungle.nl/kruisingKipFlexTree.html the first of the smaller genetic choices packed underneath the larger ones is "H+//H+" which is the genetic selector for silkied feathers. Since silkied feathers are recessive, a chicken has to have a gene from both parents "h//h" to show as a silkie. Other genetic choices are listed, and if you know the code you can add some of the more obscure ones. (Like blue eggs - which are an "O".) I've used this calculator to project how many of my chicks are going to be silkied, blue-egg layers, crested, bearded, etc. It's a great tool and I've spent hours and hours playing with it. All my projects have printouts from this program!
Awesome!! Thanks!
