So if i were to pick up eggs 30mins away... Do i have to let them sit a day before incubating them? I know ive read that you should let shipped eggs .....is it the same protocol?

BarnGoddes look what I wrote in your picture. This chick not show the lav/lav dilution because the black-pigment is not diluted to gray-pearl and the red-pigment is not diluted to cream.
Seeing the chick on day pattern and now on 7 weeks I should say it is a Bl/Bl on a wheaten or/and partridge groundcolor.

Both Blue and lavender are diluters, Blue is Dominant so it expres with 1 doses (Bl/bl+) and that is called Blue with 2 doses (Bl/Bl) it's called Splash. Lavender is recessive so this can only express in double doses (lav/lav).
Blue dilute only black-pigment and change nothing to the red-pigment. Lavender dilute black- and red-pigment at the same time.

"Porcelain" is a hobbyname which is originally used for a millefleur pattern (mottled), in Italy they use the hobbyname "Porcellane" for a lavender millefleur pattern, this is a triocolor (white/black/gold) dilute by the gene lavender (lav/lav) into white/graypearl/cream. I suppose the confusion for the hobbyname comes from there.
You can call your chick "Porcelain" but genetically seen its a duocolor Splash.
The chick of Peepblesses can also be called "Porcelain" but geneticaaly seen its duocolor lavender.

Woo! That IS steep for the R-Com. I think the full Brinsea package with all the whistles and bells is around $500 and can likely be had for less than that with coupons and such. The R-Com is a bit bigger than the Brinsea, I think, so headroom might not be such an issue. You can absolutely do it all in 1 incubator. I started with a Hovabator before I got the Brinsea and figured it was easy to get high humidity in that thing, just not so easy to get low but not too low humidity so I figured it would be fine for hatching.

I hope your Lavendars babies do well. Can you give them a drop of Rescue Remedy? It sounds like they've had a hard time...

Lol, they're just fluffy like that. No grooming required They get cold easy though, poor dears.

Yeah when I was younger I had some weird interbred chickens around and they were half silkies, half god knows what else. However, I dont know if this is a proven fact but I did notice that my silkies when I was a kid tended to hang out with the silky rooster and the other silky hens like a little click on the schoolyard. Anyone else notice that with their chickens? Some sort of chicken racism going on
