That'll be nice.I seriously want at least one dark coloured chick since it's Halloween![]()
Here is the first three!
One of Oogy's has super dark legs
I've took these three off Oogy now and put them in the brooder. I've left one chick under her and the two eggs that are still due to hatch. She was focusing more on making sure the chicks were under her rather than the unhatched eggs.
I probably won't let Oogy hatch again, or if I do I may only give her 2 or 3 eggs.
Oh they loved being next to the fire...

So adorable! It's so funny they are all turning out white, I hope you get a darker chick or two from the last two eggs.

I'm curious, how do you tell one hen's eggs from another? Are they in separate pens?Ahh one has hatched so far!
I checked the old shell it came from and it was from Oogys egg (she's a blue) but it hatched white!
So now I know Oogy can produce both blue chicks and white chicks.
I can hear more peeping![]()
I'm so happy for you!!! They are adorable
I hope you get a dark chick,

Oh, okay! Thanks so much!Thankyou
I can usually tell mine apart by appearance even if all 5 of my current laying ones were to lay them together.
Flump's: The biggest, matt white, very circular in shape.
PomPom's: Tend to be very pointy, cream colour with little grey specks on them and are shiny.
Fizz's: Also pointy in shape but the darkest in colour of them all, a light brown colour with no specks and are shiny.
Frappé's: Very small pointy Matt white eggs.
Oogy's: creamy/light brown that's kinda fat and round, very dumpy looking eggs, in between shiny and Matt.
Sometimes, I do get it wrong though. The most common ones I get mixed up are PomPom's and Fizz's. I pretty much always collect them as they pop out the hen though and mark them straight away.
