...actually IME silkies are not edible!! or maybe we just weren’t cooking them rightI have heard that they are spectacular in some Asian dishes.
  @HuffleClaw im not hating.....i loved my silkies up until the city made me rehome the last of my hens!!  they gave me eggs nearly everyday, broodied my quail eggs, and were the sweetest hens ever!!! BUT i ended up with too many males and a couple that i had hoped to keep turned agressive toward me with my favorite actually drawing “first blood” so I was forced to butcher some......

i just recently learned that it is “illegal” in the state of Indiana to alter the natural color of chickens or rabbits!! luckily i never dyed my silkies nor my no white rabbits....otherwise I might have been in deep dooodoooo!

like most of the laws here and especially the city ordinances passed in secret and only enforced by complaint.....they are beyond ridiculous!!!That's a silly law!![]()
