Nonsense! Your silkies are beautiful! Don't listen to them, listen to us insteadTo everyone on this Silkie thread, I just want to say Thankyou to you all for just generally being so nice and just enjoying Silkies as a breednon of you nit pick or target anyone out. If someone wins something, you all just say well done, not fire 'insults' about the birds and how they aren't right for showing.
Elsewhere I've recently had people putting my birds down saying they shouldn't win or they aren't good enough for breeding or haven't been judged by a proper judge etc...
Some people can be lovely, but others so damn right disrespectful/judgemental without actually ever seeing my birds in person.
I apologise to people who think my birds aren't good enough to win but unfortunately I'm not the one that judges them
My Silkies are literally my only hobby/passion and I do my best with them as i'm sure most of you do too. Having people constantly trying to bring you down is irritating and pretty hurtful.

Black partridge is male in first picture.Hi everyone! I am wondering if you could give me some insight on if my 5 month old silkies are hens or Roos. I hatched them from eggs and so far no crowing or egg laying yet...this is my first time raising chickens. I’ve attached some pictures. Thanks so much!!

I'm so sorryIt's been a rough day today. I found one of my silkie cockerels looking very unwell this morning. He was the lowest on the pecking order (he had crooked toes as a baby which I couldn't correct despite trying so he didn't walk as well as my other silkies). He'd been hanging around in the coop a lot lately and given the condition I found him in I suspect he wasn't getting out to drink. I was petting him just the night before and he was acting normal. I brought him inside and gave him some water but he was too far gone already. He passed in my arms a few hours later.![]()
