Thank youI love her coloring!![]()
I'm thinking Easter (nearly 5weeks old) is looking like a possible boy.. I know it's too early but I definitely cannot have another rooster since I have 3 already, one in a seperate coop due to fighting.
Here's some pics, hard to get good ones without mother hen! .. looks like the upside down 'U' comb, so boy?.. I might have to cull him but if any doubt I'll have to wait a few more weeks..

Pippin's egg arrived! And came with a "spare". The eggs we got aren't full silkie. One is dark and the other is light. She is sitting on them now but we let her keep her supermarket egg. They should be expected on the 26th
Awesome, now sweet Pippin can live and enjoy the life of a broody to the fullThe eBay seller said it was a silkie hybrid with either RIR, cream leg, copper maran or light sussex
Too early to tell and you can not really go by comb this young. My Akira had a HUGE and WIDE comb at this age, but is still a pullet. Easter looks partridge in coloring, so if s(he) starts to develop red over the wings and black on the breast then you will know. Beautiful chickI'm thinking Easter (nearly 5weeks old) is looking like a possible boy.. Thanks! I just got the eggs because I saw how many times she had gone broody and realised how much she wanted to be a mamma hen. I hope she stays on the nest and gets some beautiful babies. She is the flock leader so she will be able to raise them very well. she would make a great mom!!!!Awesome, now sweet Pippin can live and enjoy the life of a broody to the full
Fingers crossed everything goes well!
