As chicks they need to stay very warm. Typically people keep them indoors with a chick heater plate or a heat lamp. Once they are fully feathered (after 6 weeks) they can go outside in a proper coop. But for me.. if its cold, i just keep them inside until its warmer outside (while they are chicks).
I plan on brooding them inside with a heat lamp.
 
I saw your post about the hardware cloth.
Make sure you put a hardware cloth apron or skirt about 1 foot out from your coop and run. It is easy to keep flat on the ground with 6 inch landscaping staples. Expensive but so worth it.🙂
I need to do this once the run is in place. I swear, longest move across a yard evarrrrrrrr!!
