Silkies - They’re simply SPECTACULAR!

The unhatched egg is still under Puff and she's shuffling it around with her.. I didn't see any pipping though only saw it for a second. If she ends up off it then I won't attempt to put it back under her again, maybe a weak chick / something wrong with it or it's dead already

It didn't hatch, it was dead, must've been around day 18 it looked

Chicks are ordered! only 5 silkies though, my mom didn't want so many broody hens. Also 10 easter egger bantams! They ship April 6.

edit: Where did I get the idea of June from?

Char went off with one chick and left the others behind in the coop so I let Puff out and she stayed in the coop with the rest of the chicks looking after them all while Char and 1 chick was gone. Now both hens are together in the coop with all the chicks - there was a slight argument when Char returned as Puff protected all the chicks but then Char's 3 chicks returned to Char and all was ok. I have 2 feeders and 2 waters for them in case there's more arguments

I have got 4 black silkies and 1 yellow (red?) mistery chick. I hope they didn't get cold as they spent hours in a box. they are 7-10 days old.

Tension is mounting between the 2. Puff wants all the chicks and keeps telling Char to back off.. I may have to take Char out and allow puff to look after all 8. Puff is a better mum, char did leave her others behind yesterday and I ended up picking up the single chick and putting it back in the coop, it was so thirsty!!
