Oh i hope you keep this super bearded baby 👶😍🐣
No, these Polkies were “hatch to order” and all 5 going to their new home on Tuesday!😊
Repeat customer and she treats her birds very well. So I am happy!❤️
It really is good I don’t have room for more than about 20 birds, otherwise I probably would have a couple of hundred easy!🤣
These are all five Polkies:

They’re just so crazy adorable!! 😍😍😍

Sad night here. The one little mille fleur baby I was worried about having possible omphalitis did indeed have it. She was fine for the first couple days but today the navel broke open spilling the yolk and the poor baby had her intestines come out of the hole. It was too big to patch up and there was just no way I could find to keep her intestines in so we had no choice but to cull. First time having to do that with a chick here but I know it was the right decision. RIP sweet little one. 😢

13/16 hatched yesterday and last night, including this little super bearded Polkie chick. 5 Polkies, hatch to order, and 8 Silkies. I'll post group photos later. No blues this go round.
I have been saving hatching eggs, as I had a customer who wanted some. They have since changed their mind, so I plan on placing only Kana's eggs. She is the only one thus far that throws blue chicks with Eko.
I have a dozen of hers currently, though some are a bit past their prime. Will see what happens!🤣🥰
I honestly don’t remember saying I wasn’t going to hatch any more chicks…🤔:oops:View attachment 2995920View attachment 2995921
Oh goodness that beard is too adorable!!! 😍 Congratulations on the hatch!
Question for all you experienced breeders...I really wanna breed to get porcelain satins! So........I have this satin roo currently.

I've tried understanding the whole genetics stuff and it's hard!
I luv the duccles! And there's a chance to get porcelain duccle eggs!!!
If I bred him with a porcelain duccle would I have better chances of a porcelain satin result?
Edited to do better pic of him

Hmm well it would take a lot of work as porcelain is a rather complicated color. It's mille fleur (which is complicated as well) but with lavender added. Blue cream is a whole different thing that used to be called porcelain but the name blue cream was adopted as it didn't match the genetics of porcelain birds in other breeds. Blue cream is somewhat similar but doesn't have mottling.

Depending on how much work you are willing to take on you could start a porcelain satin project with porcelain d'uccles crossed with your handsome boy there. He would not be as good of a choice as certain other colors though (like mille fleur). If I couldn't find porcelain from a satin breeder and wanted to take the path of least resistance I'd probably see about crossing a mille fleur satin with a blue cream satin or silkie to start a porcelain project (a self blue would work too as they are lavender as well). Still a bit of work but not having to fight to get back to silkie/satin type would be a huge time saver. It would still be a few generations before you could get to the porcelain coloration though. Lavender and mottling both being recessive complicate things and then the pattern genes needing to be homozygous for the correct patterning would hold things up too.

So Layla has finally given in to the rooster, I saw him mating her today! She also just started laying after being broody for about two months. So hopefully I will finally get some chicks from this girl! 😍:wee:wee:weeView attachment 2996125View attachment 2996126View attachment 2996128

Oh that is wonderful you might be able to get some babies from her! She really is such a gorgeous girl! :love

Oh I hate that happened! I'm so sorry!

I luv a challenge 🤪 ! I keep forgetting it is the Mille fleur that I need! Not salmon faverolles or duccles!!!

Thank u!
