Silkies - They’re simply SPECTACULAR!

Hello, new to this thread, but I love silkies! I have three, 2 roosters, Kohaku and Blackie, Formerly Akira. We originally thought Blackie was a girl, and Akira means thoughtful and intelligent. Kohaku means amber. The female's name is Kaya, which means sunny. So normally we call her Sunny. Their names are Japanese, because of their origins.

Sorry, new laptop, still have to send things to it... But Kohaku is gray, Blackie is of course black, and Sunny is a marbled silkie. She is such a darling!

I can't find my original post in here where I said I was secretly wishing Floof would go broody and I would hide her in the coop behind some clutter so my husband wouldn't find out. Well it happened. My husband knows about it though it's all good. Here she is!

I have a black silkie named Hertie Gertie Birdie (or just Hertie).
She's my only silkie, but I'm thinking about getting a male.

I'm just going to chime in here and say I love my silkie boys. They always sound like they're at frat house partying.

Does anyone have a picture that compares the size of a silkie egg and a normal one? We think we got a silkie egg, but are not sure.

My fluffy gang with my pet OEGB. I know I got confirm two roosters Two hens, waiting for the other splash to to show signs which way they fall. 100% pets but I adore them none the less. I put them in the fence garden in the day time and put them up in a pen in the backyard night time.

They are Chinese. Part of traditional medicine. They are a very old breed.
