Silky hatch-along and OdoBan on eggs experiment

It's rattled my windows most of the night after midnight. Now I'm getting anxious for all of Debbie's little eggs and #22 just must pull through.
What can y'all do during a prolonged power outage?
We had one right after we got chicks last year and honestly thought I was gonna have to stuff them in my shirt to keep them warm before the power finally returned. Can't imagine filling your pockets with eggs though 😯

Running on a very large computer backup power supply and if it gives out am running power from the AC in the van inside to the incubator. Worst case scenario is to go into town and get gas for the inverter so we can make coffee too.

I have 25 silkie eggs at stake here too. And 17 others that can't be replaced.
Hoping you get your power back soon! :fl

What kind of trays do you use? I'm going to do that for this next hatch, I purchased plastic canvas and I'm going to cut dividers and zip tie them together. I figured with plastic I can sterilize it and re-use them.

I started penciling in my breeding pens for July, a lot all can change still as I don't know who all my girls are or what cockerel is going to mature into the best birds, but I may end up with 6 or 7 different pairings, which actually sounds like a really bad idea 🤣 two or three sounds more manageable.
I have changed my mind on these pairings 20 times at least! I was just outside doing it again. For instance. I don't know if we ever settled on what Marsha was, partridge or a splash, but saying she's a splash, and you could know what sex her chicks are that came from being bred by the mauve rooster, it raises the dilemma of do I shut my mouth and just sell them straight-run or double the price of the pullets to say $20 and give the roosters away? In this area, I think I'm safer to just go with straight-run. That's what I think is safest to make sure I don't wind up with a bunch of month-old cockerels to care for lol.
