Silky hatch-along and OdoBan on eggs experiment

Pics
Hang on little eggies!

The breeder Debbie292d got her buff eggs from has cuckoo, I can't remember if that's the breeder that has black, blue, and working on chocolate cuckoo, mayne it was someone else. But that might help you get a jump start on some silkied BR?
Did you see she sent me 5 cuckoos and 3 paints? :ya

The only bad thing, she said a couple may be NN's. We just can't get to liking them.

I didn't have either of the paint or cuckoo and must've mentioned it as we've been talking on and off for a month or two. I was her first "shippee" so maybe that's why she sent me 6 extras. I would have been tickled with 2.

Hubby said the way she packed them, they'd survive a nuclear blast. ☺️ I sent her a pic of them when I set them, and she said the NR360s are what she uses most and likes the best. I think she said she's got three.

:D hehehe, I see my egg's name has "or" now....
Oh yes, gonna say it....

:ya I'm cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs!! 🥰
🤣🤣🤣
Yes, so easily amused!
Oh, should I remove your original ones? I liked Zoey/Joey too but I guess we figured we'd see if it was chocolate, it's Cocoa Puffs, if not, it's Zoey/Joey ☺️

It's rattled my windows most of the night after midnight. Now I'm getting anxious for all of Debbie's little eggs and #22 just must pull through.
Well, they've been through hell already to go from one side of the U.S. to the other, to sit somewhere unknown on NYD. I don't think a few rattling windows can phase them now. :gig

What can y'all do during a prolonged power outage?
We had one right after we got chicks last year and honestly thought I was gonna have to stuff them in my shirt to keep them warm before the power finally returned. Can't imagine filling your pockets with eggs though 😯
We don't get hardly any. The couple I can remember in the past few years lasted only 15 -30 minutes.

We bought a nice quiet generator for camping a few years ago but wouldn't you know we've never used it albeit it powered up the heating pad and hubby's amp a half dozen times at the poultry swaps where I'm selling chicks and he's playing guitar and singing lol.

I've heard of people just wrapping their incubator in 2 or 3 quilts and tuck in a couple of water bottles filled with as hot of water as you can get out of the faucet. That I would think would keep them pretty well for a couple hours or so, but the hot water is going to run out eventually, and then I guess boil some over a candle?

LoL I'll keep calling her all 3 names -

🥰 Grow Zoey-Joey-CocoaPuffs!

Sheesh , that name is almost bigger than the egg! 🤣

Poor little cuckoo silkie egg got "adopted" by a real cuckoo, so sorry little one! :gig

I saw that!!! That is so awesome, the cuckoos really are beautiful, and im starting to think i wouldnt mind some paints, I'm so excited for you!!!

If they hatch and are NN, the best option it to sell them ASAP before you get attached 🤣 I didn't want frizzle or sati. So was going to see them off if they hatched. Hubby decided if a frizzle hatched "he" wanted to keep it. I hatched 1 frizzle, then he decides the satins are his faves and "he" needs to keep them too... Now the frizzle is one of my favorite all time chickens (ok, I have a lot of all time faves) I'm sure the same would happen if we hatched a NN 🤣
