Oh so nice and roasty - toasty, I would park my chair right there!
and not get dressed until 10
there are mornings I wish I had one like that, the smoke, ash, trying to get the draft to pull right when the wind is blowing,,,,
Oh I remember that. The warmth of the fire paired with the smell of ash and smoke. That can be a tough start to the day.

And, maybe by next Monday, my gluten free sourdough starter will be ready to make a loaf of bread...

Ooh, what kind of flour did you use? I had one going last winter for a few months, but it went bad. Hoping to try again soon.
Since GF flour is rather expensive, I'm grinding rice into flour and giving that a try. We'll see if it is edible or a gritty mess. I'm using a high speed blender (Blendtec), sifting it, and then blending it a second time. It still had some texture to it, so I don't know if it'll be any good.
Love those photos. It is so nice to see the beauty that is blooming in other parts of the world as our part of the world prepares to go to sleep. Keep them coming

I have ruined the sleeves of many bathrobes getting the black on them even when I try so hard not too,
now I put my lined flannel jacket over my robe to deal with the fire

Yes, I think of you 2 as family, after 7 years of coffee :caf
