Gosh that's a slow market 🤔 or maybe the Adelaide market is fast? Houses are usually sold within weeks of listing, unless they're at the top end of the market then they hang around like odd socks in the laundry.
Around here they are gone in a day and way above the asking price. What @Sally PB quoted for a time frame seems absurdly long to me.

We're "way out there," as people say. This is very much a niche market. The nearest gas station is 10 miles, grocery store, 12. The air is thickly scented with the smell of manure in the spring and fall. When it gets dark, it. gets. DARK. (But you can really see the stars!)

If your house catches fire, it is more likely to be a total loss, as there are no hydrants out here, and help is at least 10 minutes away.

You have to have 4 wheel drive, and a good sized snow blower. You may get snowed in anyway, and the mail might not get delivered. The power might be off for days, and you're on a well, so you won't have running water either.

In other words, this isn't for a lot of people.
I'm ready to move there. It sounds perfect. 🥰

IKR? The last house that was for sale was priced (way) too high, I thought. The owner had put some $$$ into, and wanted to get it all back. It was listed for about 6-8 months, didn't sell, and he decided he'd rather stay.

Grand Rapids, MI is about 40 miles away, so a long-ish, but doable commute. It gets REALLY old, though, I can tell you! And back here, you WILL have snow days, and your coworkers will think you're a wimp. Until they drive out to visit you.

yes , boy I dont know if you got the same jet stream storm but wow was that a lot of water,

What a day! Glimpse of sun and then another downpour all day long. Looking forward to the news tonight to see the rainfall totals.
