I went out and propped the door open for the older hens,
this was last night when they finally [after I made them] came into the coop. they didnt want to due to the set up of the brooder and the chicks, they are not liking this at all.

BUT!
the chicks did fine, I saw everyone breathing, the temp was 79/80 and they were not piled on each other. This is good. This is how they were at ??11pm or what ever time it was I went out last night to check them.

I pray this day goes easy.
I have laundry that needs done and some lite housekeeping.

They were cold, as of last evening 9 died.
Oh dear, that is so sad.
How long did it take them to arrive? The hatchery should have added some kind of heat pad as travelling by airplane will get them very cold.

Maybe next time just order hatching eggs?

Hopefully the survivors will thrive under your loving care.

I always keep rooster Booster vitamins & electrolytes on hand.
I just put it in their water. I am ordering , Rooster Booster Poultry Cell, 32-Ounce. I have had it in the past and for some reason stopped getting it.
This is what is in it,

and here's why I am getting it. The hens went through a hard molt over winter. their feathers took a long time to come back. when they did they looked great but now, they all look like this.

I have done the mite and lice work and they all have had good baths so that is covered. I feed then Scratch & Peck Layer Pellets. I like it because it is truly Organic, and USA sourced and is not made with canola or soybean oil.- BUT I think it is lacking in enough nutrients.

So, I will keep ya posted if i see any change.
