Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

Several months for a card?
for several months tell them you want a visit and he can have KFC with Gma!

LOL... the first thing on their check list is the FAX number....

I made assumptions after that and the form to fill out...

Didn't Willard Scott used to wish centaurians a happy birthday on Good Morning America or some such? Do they still do that even though he's gone?

I usually haven't had sufficiennt coffee at that hour to pay attention....

Ok so making progress on the new little coop. We put it on stilts so they will have room under the coop and it will not take up ground space. DH and I are working on it together now

but the original dog house design still amazes me! no frame
th.gif
just boards nail gunned to a broken up skid. And about 1,000.00 worth of nails at that
he.gif
i had to pull them all out. So we got every thing denailed and taken off the skid and figured out.
I must have had on diff. shoes yesterday or something

because just as we were getting ready to put the roof back on I realized that by using the side as a front the roof line would be wrong and my ladies would get pounded by run off if they left the coop in the rain. DH is a sport and if he looks frazzled at any point I usually ask him "what color curtains will look best with your design?" or "do you think we have room for a chandelier?" He
smack.gif
snorts and figures out a new way to make me happy
yesss.gif
. So we will be redoing the roof as a slight slant to the back so the ladies will not be bothered with run off. Then I reminded him I like to have a private room during childbirth and should probably give the ladies some cover when they are laying their eggs. DH said

*snort*. So we will be covering half of the front (using his wood that I am not allowed to use for my projects
big_smile.png
) and putting a half wall on the other side of the nest area so no one can poop in if off the roost. I did manage to convince him if the roost went in first it would be easier on him than having to try to secure it under the now shorter roof. But all in all for a free recycle project I think it is working out nicely. I plan to paint the outside Green I think.

Please excuse the mess in the back yard, No worries we did NOT in fact have a tornado, I just thought playing with my ladies sounded like more fun than cleaning up the yard today.

Looks great!!!

Grandma is full of stories and we all listen... I want to write them up eventually.. She was one of nine and the youngest.

Her momma started having babies at about fourteen or fifteen. There were two that were more than a year apart... So my guess is she would have had eleven.... Oh and Great Grandma married a widower that was about twelve years older than she was... He already had two children that were nine and ten. Story is she would play dolls with the girl.

deb

I like those stories.
My mom's parents went to high school together. Graduated in June that they were 17, got married the next June, had my mom the following June. So, she was 19 when my mom was born. I like stories about when my g-ma was a little girl and she would "run away from home". She packed her little suit case and walked to Grandma's house on the other side of town, someone she knew would help her cross the street...and then call her mother to let her know where she was.
Ah, the good old days when little kids were safe walking around their hometown...

I got my coffee at about twelve... We dont brew coffee at home because my son and I prefer espresso drinks. Though Toddy coffee runs a close second very close. So when I get my drink its got four shots of espresso in it and about six ounces of half and half... Its rich so I sip on it all day.

deb

We do espresso too. We can't get decent espresso around here, so DH has a machine. It's better than the espresso we used to get at Starbuck's before they started trying to compete with McDonald's.
I sip on mine until lunch (then I switch to tea, but don't tell anyone on the coffee thread, okay?)

Thank you... shes feeling better this evening... she wanted KFC for dinner....

what grandma wants grandma gets...

Her birthday is July 16 th... next year I am working on getting her on the presidents list.... they will send her a birthday card... I could have done it this year but didnt find out till too late ... I think the process takes several months...

deb

Mmmmmm!
I like fried chicken!!!!!

That's nice of them.

Somebody used to do it.
Someone (probably someone else) used to do it on the radio right before or after Paul Harvey did The Rest...of the Story.

I've got to start asking my DH about curtains and chandeliers and see where that gets me. lol
We use totes for nest boxes (but those aren't free usually, so they wouldn't match your curtains).

I prefer playing with my chickens (and children, and computer, and crocheting, and pretty much anything else) than cleaning up the yard too. So I usually get the kids to do the picking up.

I think Al Roker used to do that too.

Oh, yeah, that's right! He did that for a long time. I think he was still doing it not too long ago, a few (maybe several) years ago???

Okay, I just did an image search (b/c I don't do names well) and both of you are right. Willard Scott did it for a long time, and then Al Roker took over for him.
Now, IDK whether anyone is doing it now or not, but those two I do remember.
