Like i say I kill when its self preservation. Mousies uisually get got by the cat or the dog... dog was an excellent mouser. but there Are sooo many here I gave a glue trap a try.... Thats the screaming exhausted mouse I found I coated him with veg oil got him off the trap cleaned him up a little and took him down about a mile from home. NEVER again either trap and release or Trap wiith dealdy force. About the same time I caught a bird on one of those traps Just a wittle sparrow. I got him off but it was too late.

Now Rats I have no compunction to put out poison and releish the smell as they decay in the walls.... KNowing they suffered and passed on my offerings.

here in the desert we have
Kangaroo Rats
Pack rats (the largest)
Norway rats (my vendetta)
wood rats

There are even Grasshopper mice

they will form pairs and take a territory as large as 28 acres feeding off grass hoppers and beetles.

I think I may be feeling better

I prefer to help mice go to Mousey Heaven.

I am neutral on spiders and I let every scorpion I see up here walk away unscathed...

But if you want to talk about things that scare people, put bats on the list!

I was bitten by a rabid bat when I was 16 and had to endure the 21 shots in the belly. I was so sick I cannot believe rabies could have been a lot worse..

And back then my belly was about 1/10 the size it is today so the whole thing was bruised from the injections. The injections back then were no fun, they would put the needle in and squeeze half the serum into my belly. They would leave the needle in for a half hour and squirt the rest in. The whole time a nurse sat there and watched me with another needle in the ready in case I reacted to the first needle.

After they emptied the needle I had to sit and wait, with the grumpy old nurse for another half hour..

So I hate grumpy old nurse ( she must have been all of 35.) and bats of any age.
That is terrible!

Luckily, they do not give the shots for rabies like that now--three shots in the arm is what my wife got when a dog bit her.

Good Morning, This is coffee time.

I need posts to read while I drink my coffee. I have only had one cup so type type type..

Heat wave here 28 degrees, I am going to cut coffee short and be outside working before 11!

Back in the late 1990's I got exposed and had to undergo the rabies vaccinations. They brought in a tray of huge syringes about the size of hot dogs filled with odd pink fluid. I asked which was for me and the answer was "All of them." It was administered in my behind and, frankly, I was rather glad I had ample padding back there as I really didn't feel too much of it. I think I had to go in for two more rounds of injections. The only side effect I recall was I had a killer headache after one round.... That and I like to sing to the moon.

Ahhhh-wooooooooo
