Well, I did get the plow truck stuck.

Only once, and it REALLY wanted to get stuck/slide off of the road lots today.

Also, the only time it got stuck, with lots of shoveling, it got back out (without having to call the expensive "pull your super heavy plow truck out of a ditch" guy).

But now it is drizzling.

This winter has been NUTS! I know the rest of you'll have had colder than usual weather, but we have had warmer than usual weather. And warm wet slushy snow is VERY difficult to plow without the plow sliding off of the road.

I kept breaking and messing up the tire chains.

We make a big parking area down by the church pond, so that anyone who can't get their car up the hill has a place to park. Well, this parking area is a 'winter only' parking area. Today as I am clearing it all out the plow truck started to sink a bit, since the $&@$#% ground is a bit soft.

One guy I couldn't plow out, his drive is only a tiny incline, but I just couldn't. I tried running up as fast as I could, nope. I tried backing up as fast as I could, nope. The truck had such bad purchase on these slushy roads that the entire thing spun around on me a few times. Anyway, that guy is from Minnesota, so he said no worries. I will have to snowblow him out tomorrow. Our snowblower is on a very old tractor (OK, not that old, I am older, but it is still pretty old, i think a '74). So, it goes, but at about 2 miles an hour, and you have to sit on the open air seat, twisted backwards, and drive backwards while you snowblow.

Also, it looks like the rain is turning back to more slushy, hard to plow snow. Probably be another foot of the super wet stuff tonight.

wet snow is MUCH harder to deal with than the dry feathery stuff. it is so heavy and slick. the closer you are to the melting point.

but you can build better snowmen with it!
