Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

I thought so.

Oh, as to the coated in sweat feeling... Shower before you go to bed, go to bed with your hair wet, one thin top sheet and fluff it a few times before you fall asleep. When you fluff the top sheet, that is old time air condition!

My grandma would take us all and cover us in powder after our bath to keep the clean feeling for a little longer.
This reminded me of my childhood!!! We didn't have air conditioning and we lived in an old house.

I used to get heat rash on my back; my S-M used to have to put cornstarch in a sock and pat my back with it.
We do have a/c now, but I have to do the cornstarch in a rag thing for my LO sometimes. It brings back memories. =)

Windy and mid-60's right now, headed for a low in the upper 30's. Tomorrow's high is forecast to be around 50. Oh, well, we've had a couple of days of sunny and 70's, so I can't complain.
smile.png

Gotta admit, I do complain when the daytime highs are in the 90's and the nighttime lows are in the low 80's. The humidity around here is so high, everything mildews, and the air is so thick I can't decide whether I should try to breathe that stuff or drink it!

Yeah!
I'm gone for a few hours and 80 posts behind!!! AND, what is this about a raid????

this sheep ain't changin' pastures I like the warm fuzzies and the yummy coffee on this side of the fence

Oh and to the new folks and welcome back to the one returning to the fold.
Everybody grab a roost and good cup o' roast and sit a spell

I gotta shut the computer down for awhile. Everytime I walk by it reaches out and grabs me and says "sitting with a cup of coffee calling" And you know I just have to answer it! So me (and my coffee) will be working for awhile.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes about my poor little rescue hen. She's finally turned the corner I think. She gobbled up her scrambled egg dinner and she's starting to make soft chickie sounds again when I talk to her. Still working on the diarrhea but now that she's starting to eat again I'm seeing a little improvement there too.

Oh and Ron, just an FYI about your suggestion about rooster soup. Soup, happens to be the NAME of my poor little hen!
lau.gif
My other hens are named Noodle, Nugget, Dumpling and Gravy. The other rescues that died this past fall and winter were named Stirfry, Crockpot and Fricasee.

That reminds me. Guess I better start working on a list of names for my new babies! Now, where did I put that cookbook???
lau.gif

Here I am naming my chickens things like "Chocolate", Snoodle, and Robert Downey, Jr.
You should name your next rooster A La King.

Chicki you got me
What's this about an "other" side of the fence? There is only one side of the fence and I'm staying in our own backyard. The coffee is best here as are the chickens, friends and conversations! Time for sleep so i can wake up to a great cup of coffee!

I like the coffee graphic. Wish I could really decorate a cup of coffee like that!!! lol
Maybe, I could get DH to learn how.......Hmmmm...

Last summer the kids and .i raised two turkey poults, one for Christmas and one for Thanksgiving. Of course we named them Christmas and Thanksgiving.

I loved the look on people's faced when we told them that Christmas had died, and now we were only left with Thanksgiving.

You're terrible!!!

I am too, I guess; b/c I think that's hilarious!!!
We're going to raise our Thnxgvg turkey this year. We eat lasagna for Christmas and you can't raise that in your backyard.

Good morning Friends! Hope everyone has a good day! Windy here and 30 degrees cooler than yesterday but, yay, nothing falling from the sky! Found this at my sons this morning-
guess it was pretty windy last night!

It was windy here (well, windier than usual); it knocked down most of the safety netting on my juvie pen, then two escaped later in the morning b/c the wind knocked it down again. I took a hammer to those nails and told them to do their job or else!!!

Grog morning.

Temps in the 40's and the wind really rippin' out there. Feelin' kinda rough around the edges after a rotten night's sleep. In addition to the usual barn chores, I had to stand out in the wind holding a couple of horses for the farrier. But hey, any day with horses in it is a good day (right, horse lovers?)

Soon as I get done with this

I think I'm gonna take a nap.

I was super short on sleep last week. DH and I are just catching up from DS having a bad week sleeping. He wakes up and says he slept "Great!"; DH and I are barely able to keep our eyes open b/c he woke up so many times and for so long...ugh!
And, yes, every day with horses is a good day!!! I need to get some horses into my life.

I almost forgot...

6 days 20 hours 46 minutes until Spring!

Yay!

Less than a week now???? Maybe there is something to this Spring Myth you've been promoting.

I am not a huge emoticon lover, but those bunnies are the BEST EVER!

Someone pressed the spring button last Tuesday for us. We are getting a freeze to night.
Another peach-less year for me. It burst out three days too soon.
Oh well, I am just going to take a drive up to see Hagar3. Purchase some peaches in person.
(Alliteration is always.alluringly addictive,)

I like alliteration too. =)
Our Japanese Magnolias (or Tulip Trees) will have limp brown rags on them too. =(
The jasmine still looks pretty though. =)

I know!

It gave me PTSD...I have a plum tree that manages to miss complete pollination because of Rain!
barnie.gif
Three years ago, it was fully pollinated and I had lots of plums. Last year less then 1/4 of a corp.....
hugs.gif
Sorry about your plums.

This thread is most serious.
