Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

WRT goats... I LOVE GOATS... little Reprobates. If you think your fencing is adequate.... ADD HOTWIRE. Goats put their feet up on everything. If you have a tree in their yard.... wrap it in chainlink or chicken wire... My goats girdled two trees before I realized what they were doing....

My next goat yard will have rub bars along the bottoms of all the fences because they love to throw their shoulders into a wire fence and rub along the base. Its a grooming thing a socal thing too... But eventually the wire will scrunch enough that they can worm their way OUT. Then its trampoline on the car... rewire the house... Eat the licence plate tag off the car... Taste everything....

Did I say I loved goats? I really do mine were Nigerian dwarfs and one Pygmy.... He was a bull dozer and an escape artist.

What does WRT mean?
My dad had goats when I was a kid. I miss them and want to get some. Mostly, I started wanting them for the milk, but I'm beginning to get the deep inner...???urge to have goats and bond with them and all just like my chickens.
I'll be aware of the rubbing and car eating. lol
I'm looking into Kikos and into Nigerian dwarf x Lamacha
Thank you!!! =)

Tea Chick what kind of chicks are you getting?

Perchie girl I would love to have some goats but I know they will not stay in my hot wire fence.

The cute kind!!! lol
I'll post pics if you want. =)

Had a big piece of hot fudge cake and 2 cups of coffee for a midnight snack

ACK! I almost licked my computer screen!

OK, going to bed!

So sorry for all the qches and pains. Getting older does have its down sides. Just discovered I can no longer thread a needle without glasses.

@chickisoup

:hugs At east the hen doesn't act like she is in any discomfort.

Yep..we are having that at my house too.  One of our chicks, maybe you remember, was hatched with only one eye.  The little thing was perky though, and did fine eating and drinking, so I let it live, hoping that it would be a female.

Well, it is a girl, but now, close to 6 months of age, she is having labored breathing.  I am thinking that it must not have been only her eye that is messed up, it must be that something else is wrong with her as well, maybe her lungs, or a heart issue.

There is no sign of anyone else having any problems, which is why I am so sure it is just her, and nothing contagious.

Anyway.....OF COURSE, since she is so very recognizable, the kids have always kept an eye out for her, to make sure she isn't being bullied, and to make sure she gets enough to eat and drink.

So, she is called Captain Scar (or is it major scar?  whatever).

Point is, she is sweet, and the kids dote on her...and these last few days I have been watching her closely...and I just do NOT think she is doing that well.  We cleaned up the coop, the run, just EVERYTHING, hoping that maybe she is just more sensitive, and would do better in a perfectly clean environment.

Anyway....I think that she is getting worse.  I am thinking I might should put her down if she doesn't show improvement.  :(

:hugs
To all hose with some ck chickens. Our batch of 4h hens are slowly dying off. All of them have started intrnally laying (I believe) and they act fine up until the last few days when they begin to behave a little off. It is never fun to loose pets.

Chicki I hope your girl will be ok. :fl

Perchie girl that chair looks great I hope it will be very comfy for you!

Vehve your pic of your birds flying yesterday looked very beautiful!

I was suppose to have 9 eggs hatch yesterday but only one managed to and this morning I have two more. With two more pipped. :fl

:jumpy

Fluffy butts. I would share pics of my 3 week olds if BYC would let my computer upload.:smack

If the naproxen doesn't help enough, you can try alternating acetomenafen (sp) and ibuprofen on a 3 hour schedule.
Hope your chair arrives sooner than you expect!!!

Not here! Here it's pepper-peach jam day!!! I have 11 pints in different sized jars to get me through the year. Yum!

Yum! You can send some my way! lol

Thanks everyone! Must be drug day. Peppers contain capsaicin. A known analgesic which I used the morning.

Worked pretty well with the 4 aleve and the body controlling brace thing. This evening's medication was a frozen wine cooler " Hurricane" followed up with 3 more aleve after dinner. And there will be more " pepper cream " before retiring.

Those are as much drugs as I can handle. Though the Hurricane is pushing it.

What's pepper cream? If you have a recipe or something, could you share?

@TeaChick Thanks! I didn't make that one though.
The pepper cream is the arthritis cream. It has capsaicin in it from hot peppers hence I call it "pepper cream". And don't rub your eyes after using. I wash my hands thouroughly but the cream has a way of getting under the nails and not washing out so easily. Don't ask how I know this. ;)

Thank you Dizzy. Only one hatched on time and so far I have 3 more that have hatched a day late and two more are pipped. Three eggs do not show any signs of pipping so far. But I will give them another day if needed to see if they will hatch.
