Absolutely a poop board! With a good layer of pine chips over DE. Only way to keep things nice and tidy in a smallish coop in the north where the chooks can be forced to stay inside for days at a time. I also have a vinyl covered floor with a good layer of straw/hay over another generous sprinkling of DE. Takes me maybe five to ten minutes a day this way to clean the coop. I add more chips as needed and like to do a complete change out every week or two. I generally don't change the straw in winter unless we get a good break in the weather.

No problem :) I needed the nudge! I actually enjoy my morning chores with my girls (I was just teasing) even when it's -20. I wouldn't dream of not checking on them in this weather. (Insert big smiley face here-stupid emoticons have disappeared again-add rolling eyes)
