I am very happy with my concrete reinforcing wire. One layer of that, add one layer or chicken wire or whatever you have on hand, and you have reached perfection.

The thick wire of the concrete wire supports itself well. So, it needs little in the way of supports, really just on the edges. Also, that strength means it does NOT bend or break under a snow load!

add a layer of thin wimpy wire to keep out small critters, and there you have, perfection!

It would look cool on Google street view too!

Something high gauge (skinny wires) and light, large enough holes to be light and easy to hang but not large enough to let a hawk through....
Have you considered safety netting?

Ya gotta have one that tells fortunes!!! That's an absolute must! Yeah, Polish should be good fortune-teller looking chickens.
Snoodle was the smartest chicken ever, but she's dead now. She was a Cochin Bantam Frizzle with a little Silkie back in there somewhere. The other breeds sound good too. =) Cochins are smart, New Hampshires are really smart. I haven't had any other breeds that are particularly smart. Don't bother with Leghorns though if you want smart chickens.

Original military issue camo nets are best, no civvie net comes close in terms of durability and funky smells. The dense camouflage material is fitted onto a strong base netting.
Note: the colours vary a bit, see the extra picture for reference.
Size 5 x 5 m, eye size about 8 x 8 cm. Can be cut into smaller parts without the net fraying.
Used, but perfectly serviceable.
Hint: If you want a Scandinavian design element for your home furniture, hang this from the ceiling. You can't get these from Ikea!

Yeah, what @Alaskan said, tarp, shower curtain, plywood, tupperware or lid, etc. anything. Stick it on or under the porch. in a shed, if the tractor will fit inside the coop...?

I don't know if you get Georgia Public TV. I saw it on Georgia Outdoors. Both the Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake and the Indigo snake den in the Gopher Tortoise holes. All 3 are threatened because of loss of habitat. The Gopher Tortoise digs burrows in the sandy soil of the Southeast in the area of the Long Leaf Pine. It told about the Indigo being a King Snake and if the Indigo gets a chance it will eat the Eastern Diamondback. Both of these snakes are among the largest snakes in North America.

I saw that video it was a hoot. I been browsing but really do only have enough money for a bird net.

The space I need to net over will be 100 feet by 25 maybe a bit wider if I can figure out how to include a tree. I will either run a cable or set up support posts on car tires with soccer balls skewered on top.

the nets I have looked at were pretty dang tough.

100 x 50 feet for around 130 dollars. this will leave me trim stuff for patches and to make a a sweep of sorts for herding chickens into the coop. I should buy it now because I can afford it now and put it in storage at the house.

I am doing coyote/dog/Goat proof fencing up to about six feet high then from there will be bird net over the top. I am Hoping I can get my hands on some used pipe corral for the fence.... No messin around with wood. pipe corral is easy to manage even with a broken down old person like me. extensions of PVC will bring it from five feet to six for the bird netting.

I get GPTV. There's something else on that I watch when that's on, but I see it on the guide. I'm pretty sure that the poisonous snakes in Fla (where I live) are EDR (you mentioned), Coral snake (not the King Scarlet; Red on Yellow could kill a fellow, red on black won't hurt Jack.), and the Copperhead/Cottonmouth/Water Mocasin (spelled wrong, of course). IDK whether those are all they same species or not, but from what I understand they are the same species but that species appears different depending on gender, time of year, and level of maturity (or some such things). Oh, and the pygme and/or hog nosed rattler(s); again, I think I've been told they're the same species and that they're two different species. Either way, I know the FWLF states that there are exactly four species of venomous snakes in Fla.
Hang on, I'll look up a good source for us all! =D
