Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

finished the "freezer camp" for 2014, eight sent to camp today. I do not need to raise as many chickens next year, finally finished eating the ones I raised in 2012.
My wife bought some soap that is scented with coconut and ginger that removes the blood odor on my hands.

afternoon coffee was just what I needed to recover.

What is the brand name of that soap?

I bought this metal piece of soap thing, it really gets rid of fish smell from the hands, I suppose it would work for blood too. It's not really soap, it's a piece of metal shaped like a bar of soap. Don't know what it's made of, but it's sold as a odor remover. Another thing that works is lemon juice. Grab half a lemon, squeeze it in your hands and use it like soap.

Thanks!

I have used stainless steel to remove garlic odors but did not know it worked for other smells too.

I will have to give it a try next time I process.

I suggest heritage turkey! My broad breasted should have gone to freezer camp at 5 months old. But I am going to try to keep the broad breasted hen on a diet to mate with my standard bronze tom and hopefully I will get her to sit on some eggs. She is so sweet! To me turkey have so much more personality than chickens do! And they learn hand signals quickly! I can point to any of mine and motion with my fingers for them to come to me and they will, just that one out of 10-15 turkey. They are smart.

Sounds great!!! I'll have to look into getting some. Do you recommend hatching my own eggs or getting poults?

First let me state as I drink my evening cup of joe that no toads were hurt in the writing of this post. LoL
Hoppy is not living in my bathroom though I did like the idea of the toad house by where we keep the plunger.
Hoppy was repatriated to the wild after his ant feast an I'm hoping doing his normal toad things somewhere in my back yard.
Though we had a special bond and shared some special memories I felt it was the best thing for him/her? LoL
I miss you hoppy.

If the toad gets rid of the ants bring them on.

I say again:

to toads in my bathroom!!!!!

We have these really tiny clear-ish ants in the kitchen, that I thought I had gotten rid of... until I put on my glasses to read a recipe.

they are still here!

And the house is dusty too.

So I took off my glasses.
I'll deal with tomorrow.

Now that's housework!!! Take off the glasses; I'll have to try that. I bet my house gets real clean real fast!!!!
BTW, those might be ghost ants.

If you are truly from the South you know that you can't go a day without both. Not the tea in the fancy little cups though.

I'm not truly from the South. I'm from Miami.

I did grow up around here (the South) and I do like sweet tea. I can't drink from those fancy little cups; they always break.

But I like a glass of iced tea or a cup of coffee.

I had a visitor at my kictchen sink earlier this fall after a big rain.

Since the kitchen isn't finished yet he was able to squeeze in from the basement. But I don't know how he got in the basement.

The good news is there weren't the usual ants coming in this summer.

We find little tree frogs in the kids' bathroom. I'm still not convinced they don't come in with the boys!

I still have one to go.

I'd rather get him a few hens than to butcher him.
I'll have to try coconut oil and ginger next time I do freezer camp. Thanks for sharing!

It's made of stainless steel. It's great for removing onion and garlic from your hands too. I like the lemon idea myself.
