Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

A really BIG THANKS!

I've put alot more into it than I ever expected. I think DSO feels neglected sometimes, since I've worked so hard so long on it. And sometimes, I think he thinks I like my chickens more than him.

The coop is 9 1/2 x 13 1/2 the small run is 5 x 131/2 and the large run is 13 1/2 x 16 plus a 1 foot space connecting the two.
Time for a second cup then on to painting more trim and raking leaves for the winter run fun!

Have a Great Day All!!!

Sound like your girls will have lots of room to roam.

They will. Since I work overnight and am occaisionally gone for a couple of days I needed something big enough and predator proof for ME not to worry. I have tried it out as far as pecking goes and they love it so far. So when winter comes and they are cooped up, the sides will have clear vinyl and I won't have to worry about how they are doing. I am a worrier so I really built it for me!

Now my coffee is gone so I need a cup to go and get to work. No more procrastinating!

I hear ya. That is why I used the welded wire even on the tops of my runs. We had a skunk trying to find a way into any of my pens 2 nights ago and had no luck.

OH AM I JEALOUS!!! That whole setup is beautiful!!!

I love the little (big) barn coop and the run looks not just pretty but very secure with plenty of room to play safe from the snow and predators.
You are a VERY GOOD chickie momma!

Thanks!!! I want to make sure the girls have much to occupy their winter hours and not by pecking each other. I thought about adding a couple of swings in there too! That's me not having to worry about tending wounds in the middle of winter.

So glad chickadoodles no skunk got entry. Phew that would have been awful! My former neighbor, the one that I got my silkies from, had a possum last week and got some of her silkies and NN's. Awful shame. Her coop looked entirely predator proof!

Mother nature has foiled my plans again. It wasn't suppossed to rain so soon this morning nor be so windy. No leaf raking for me today. It looks like so far we are on the edge of it and hope it stays that way so I can bag up dry leaves tomorrow.

So today I can finish painting the trim boards (not yet installed) and work on my coop page!

Swings and cabbage on strings and different height perches to different height feeders.... All enrichement techniques. I put in a saw horse in my runs so I can move it around.... My poulrty is not allowed to free range here... I even have plans to cover a large run area which would be about half of the whole back yard. Then put in a Range feeder the kind people use to feed deer. then fill it with scratch or pellets or what ever ..... then have it set to dispense every half hour.... just fling a handful of feed about the run.... Just for entertainment and foraging.....

I want to do the Range feeder for the goats as well. With some sort of feed benign to goats that they love... Oh hey Scratch.... They love scratch... I just have to figure out how to keep them from knocking it down.....

...."Swings and cabbage on string'' these are a few of our favorite things....
and now the rest of the afternoon Julie Andrews will perform in my brain.
No real complaint. I like her.
I have had worse.

Off to the dentist. AAAHHHHHHHH! nuts.
Not my favorite place on the planet.

If You don't hear back from me, I ran away.
