Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

This one hatched at just after midnight last night (12:07 a.m.) Still hasn't fluffed up yet.

I set 24 farmers market eggs for the hatch-along and this was the only viable one, so the name for it is Solo. Supposedly an Ameraucana (EE?) roo x RIR hen, but who knows?

Luckily I have some eBay eggs due to hatch on Saturday (hope, pray, beg) so that this one will have some company.
Oh! didn't realize that was a new pic. A New Years baby! Hope it's a girl

and also on the Ebay eggs. Yep, they just don't do as well alone.

I was in a intermediate drawing class once and over heard the grad student talking to her professor about albatrosses. He said that there is a point where a project needs to be stopped and scrapped instead of trying to salvage it.
I think about that a lot.
There is a reason sometimes why we walk away from something.
Not just art, but a lot of things. I will scrap a garden and start over if it does not flow.
Wrong place, bad light, something keeps it from working and no matter how much more energy you put into it, It just won't work where it is at.

relationships, friendships...family. sometimes we just need to start over. It applies to everything.

Deb, antihistamines are used to treat allergies here (as that is their primary use, the drowsiness is just a side effect). But for those uses you need a prescription too. We're pretty strict with what can be sold over the counter. All antibiotics also need a prescription here, be it for animal or human use. That's a good thing, in my opinion.

Happy new year to everyone!

They also help with allergic reactions to insect bites.... and yes I know drowsiness is a side effect. here you can get all sorts of medications for dogs cats and livestock. From innoculations to antibiotics.... yet they pulled sulfa drugs off the shelf because they can be used for treating gun shot wounds.... Go figure.

Sulfamillimide (sp?) powder was the main ingredient of my horse mentors homemade salve. Yellow powder mixed with lard and a liniment.... Was great for wounds... Horses have a tendency to remove their skin down to pink just jostling around or playing halter tag....

I have made my own using antiseptic foot powder and lard. Not quite as good but works to keep the wound soft and the bugs off and promote healing.

Good morning and happy new year everyone.
The puppy survived. Half a Benadryl and she calmed down, but was still hyperventilating in her sleep.
My husband laid pillows on top of her and her breathing calmed down.
But it was a rough night for her.
She will be nine months in a couple weeks, so I hope she out grows it.

Any new years resolutions out there?
Good Job on the pup.... Yep I have heard of those compression harnesses doing wonders for dogs who have "issues" might be worth investing in one...

No new years resoulutions for me. I am currently on loan to other people so dont have my life for myself.

Happy New Year!

Resolutions: exercise at least 3 times a week, eat more veggies daily, quit my job to stay home with my retired hubby, the chickens and the llamas.

Not a resolution but staying home with my critters is soooo
