Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

We have had fog and drizzle. The lows are just above freezing and the highs are above 50. By Sunday the high is predicted to be 60. I am hoping for some weather that lets me work outside this weekend. North Georgia will be a bit cooler.

Pudding Fluff I hope your DH gets well quickly. And what a wonderful son to take care of your critters for you. Try not to over do your self at work so that you can stay well.

Thank you.

Hi all! I have some pictures of my chicks that just hatched and they are mixed breeds. someone on BYC told me that I should come on your thread and you could probably help me figure out which is which. I thought I'd give it a try. I have chicks that came from White leghorns, Ameraucana, and Barred Rock roosters and the same group of hens. The person that I got the eggs from was more interested in eggs and not breeding. I'll say one thing. He has fertile roosters. I set a dozen eggs and everyone of them was fertile. I ended up with 10 out of 12 and the chicks are thriving so far. The only ones I would know for sure are from a certain roo I would imagine are the black ones. Barred Rock, but mixed with which. Hopefully someone can help me figure this out. Here goes.

Welcome to BYC with a name like Swanee are you from North Florida?

Sorry to hear of the illness in your family. It is always good to have a responsible son to help.

Yep. He's a great kid.
@Puddin Fluff Hope your family is ALL well soon! Glad you have someone to help out so youdon't have to worry as much!

@Peep_Show I would probably do the same.

Hagar, I'm from Nebraska. My last name is Swanson, My peeps just nicknamed me Swanee. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I've never been on this thread before. One of my BYC friends told me you guys might be able to help me with my chicks. It's to bad the person that sold the eggs to me didn't breed his rooster to his hens. All the same breeds. The roos are very good roos. I got 3 dozen fresh eggs one day that he had just gotten and I picked out a dozen out of the cleanest ones. I had told him not to wash them because I woluld like to incubate. What a pick! Every egg was fertile. One chick started pipping before it was ready and it was premature, poor chick. Another pipped but didn't go any farther. I thought I might end up with the usual 4 or 5 and ended up with 10. They are all a lively bunch. Thanks everyone for the info and the warm welcome! By the way I love coffee too!
