Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

Chickadoodles,

What and how many going into lockdown?

The 26 are doing well. They've figured out eating and drinking and moving at light speed. Don't think I could duplicate that picture at this point without them all jumping out. What a difference a day makes!

one of my wyandottes is in a nest box and carefully scooting a wooden egg under her after I lift her up to check for real eggs, stupid chicken, I do not want to hatch any until March, I remember writing the memo.

Spring Chicken,
My chicks have a long ways to go before they can go out. Their just starting to get feathers. Not 2 weeks old yet. There's 10 of them so it could get a little crowded. I might just end up having to let them run loose on my back porch. We'll see. How old are your chicks? How cold is it where you live? Once our warm spell gets over with it will probably go back to being real cold. It's usually below zero this time of the year. Funny weather here!

My first 6 will be 3 BR turkey 4 Chantecler, 2 Buckeye. As they hatch I will put more into lock down every few days till next month. Then I will start hatching a batch every week.

That is great that they are eating and drinking so quickly and running around so quickly! I agree on each day they learn so and grow so fast! Congrats! They are very adorable

Some will brood them or let them play during the day in a kiddie pool so they have more room.

Yesterday morning my knees ached and felt like a bat had whacked at the top of the shins. I told the ladies at coffee group that it felt like snow was coming, which they kind of pooh-poohed. Sure enough, 4" of the white stuff on the ground this morning.

Enjoying a very hot mug of coffee and the satisfaction of knowing my knees don't lie.

Thanks Chicki!

If you get an incubator you won't need to go into TSC in the spring.

Oh yes she will! She will need to get some brooder stuff and food for the chicks. She can probably think of some other good reasons to go.

You all are funny this morning.

I had a cardinal that fought his reflection in the side mirror on the car so badly he beat off all of his head feathers.
baldy was a baddie.
I guess all of us have seen the Cardinals fighting their reflection in the hubcaps in the spring when they are mating.
