Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

ooh!

good one!

Now that song is singing in my head

You spin my head right round, right round
When you go down, when you go down down

You spin my head right round, right round
When you go down, when you go down down

Hey, walk out that house with my swagger
Hop in there with dough, I got places to go!
People to see, time is precious

Alaskan's winter strikes here again.

I just got home from shopping... as I am leaving the store, I see this lady walking into the parking lot pushing her full shopping cart, wearing STILETTOS! Really?

Not only is that super odd for Homer, she wore them shopping to the bulk foods store, where the parking lot is a 'sort of' paved lot with lots of gravel on it. The sort of parking area where I cringe if I have to push the cart for very far, since the cart keeps bogging down in all of the gravel.

And she was wearing those things as she pushed her cart over that gravel parking area!

Yup. I used to be a cashier in Bay Hill (think Arnold Palmer and the Bay Hill Invitational), near Isleworth (where Tiger Woods lives/lived), and you'd be amazed at the wide variety of grocery shopping attire I saw!!!

You admire a woman who can drive a shopping cart through gravel in stilettos????

@TeaChick I wish you could have been with me this morning. A friend's mare gave birth to the most adorable little Appaloosa filly.

Awwwww!!!! Me too. I miss horses.

Is that a Polish in your avi?
I just got a White-Crested Blue Polish pullet week before last. =)

Oh, and dinner tonight was delicious. Pa made his best potato pancakes to go along with my fried fresh big water Perch coated in Panko bread crumbs. Dessert was a bowl of yummy Cappuccino gelatto.

Cappuccino gelatto sounds divine.

Neither, really, and in a way, a little of both. I took a peek at the mare when I was feeding around 9:00, and thought her belly looked pretty pointy, but other than that, she didn't seem all that "foalish." Someone called and wanted me to meet them at the barn at 11:00 to help load a horse in a trailer, and while we were there, I looked in the pasture, and gee, whiz, one of the mares is lying down, and is that a foal I see? I called the owner as I was hurrying across the pasture. There was another pregnant mare in the pasture, which was getting involved in a bad way; the owner would have separated them had he thought either was really likely to foal today ("due" date March 3). Once we got the other mare out of the way, we got to see the foal take her first steps, and all those fun "firsts." Little monkey was running laps around her mom within a couple of hours . . . .hard to tear myself away.

Oh, me too; it would be so hard.

It is amazing. I was able to watch our llama give birth last spring and I was a nervous wreck. She didn't follow any of the standard llama birthing procedures like the book said, but the baby was born just fine none the less.

I only have experience w/ human babies (well, chickens, but they're not live-birth mammal types, but anyway)...my first one was the only one that went by the book and the first one "never" goes by the book, so...??? IDK what that means, but there it is.

Still snowing here. I think I need one more cup of coffee to muster a trip to the coop....
Birds laid late yesterday, after I left for the day. Came home to VERY cold -- if not frozen -- eggs.

Oh, my!
I'm so glad my eggs don't freeze here.
I hope things warm up for you soon! =)

it is very cold and sprinkling here

Started snowing last night as I was coming home from work. Then it stopped and began again some time in the night. Still coming down. Got maybe and inch and a half. We were right at 32 high yesterday, currently 28 and I think 33 is the forcast high so no melting today. Took chickens some "liquid" water this morning and while checking out the coop found 2 eggs laid behind the nest boxes. One frozen solid and cracked. I readjusted to boxes so they couldn't squeeze behind.

Chickens were less than thrilled with the snow. They would not go out in the yard and I had to step over and around them to get chores done.

I'll make a few trips down during the day just to see what they are up to and make sure the water remains "liquid" but for now, coffee, laundry and indoor chores.
