Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

Aren't hardware stores fun? I'm amazed there isn't more eye-rolling when I try to explain a doohickey that's needed. There's a lot of squinting and confused looks. That and have me try to explain any kind of computer science... Not a pretty picture. Even *I* know I sound stupid.

We all have our strengths in assorted areas and places that we just rock....

bringing along a picture helps... sometimes...

I end up at Home Depot, I gave up asking for help. I know more about the place then a lot of the employees, so I just find it.

I look it up on the website, add it to my cart and then get the location. Recently I asked where an aisle and bin number was and the worker had not clue....

Hubby bought some pavers for a customer a couple of weeks ago. The computer said they had them, but nobody seemed to know where. He had several people, including the store manager, wandering around looking for them. They eventually had some brought over from another store in the area to make sure they had enough; I don't know if they ever got it straight on the computer.

My husbands pet leave is when he knows more about a product than a store employee. If you work in a store, you should at least familiarize your self with what is sold, if not in the entire store, at least your department.

Lowes, Home Depot, TSC, TSC, TSC... Well all the TSC were there is a flock swap I attend. I know their layouts and layouts backwards. Because some of the stores layouts are the exact opposite to a sister town sort of like Wally World. Sometimes ai think the reason why they dont know their own store is they dont stick the shelves.

Many years ago they did not have store shelf stockers. The bag boys did it and the checkers did it when things were not busy. Now adays with these mega marts (which I have a like and dislike relationship with) they have employees for separate jobs. No one person is a cashier, stockboy, bag boy, floor mopper, security person. Everyone is "specialized."
Tell about myself with outnit being in the introductions, I type on my cell that nolonger has a keyboard, I guess where the keys are. The keyboard disappeared and the store sold me a new iphone 6 that I am learning.

I am showing my age. I am newly retired. I come from a generation that walked down to the five and dime. Rode a city bus(even though I owned a car) rode the train(yep owned a car) fixed a toaster, a dryer, a washer, refinished my own floors, rebuilt a Mustang engine, painted several Mustangs and a ford pickup truck, upholstered a Mustang, built on a room, refinished my furniture, owned my own business, branched out and opened another business of my own, paid off my business loan, traveled the world several times, built a gazebo, never filed bankrupsy, plowed the garden, painted a house inside and out, redid the plumbing, no lawn service EVER, wear a watch, retired and moved back to my home state to a farm to be with my family and old friends to find everyone was dead, dying, or moved away or moving away to live with their kids in a state I just Left!
Well,my husband would have done some things for me if he had not of been out of the country with the military, he was a lifer, and stayed with the military as a contractor after he retired to retire again. I am a very patient person but I do have my limits.
I find in this world that should be thinking so very globally sometimes very narrow minded at times.
I like this site greatly, there are a few threads that are quite interesting, friendly and helpful. I find unfortunately one that is sometimes not friendly. And there is no reason what so ever, Other than the persons mind was left in middle school. Which I never attended, I went straight from elementary into high school. Yes I did. So I would really like to know more about the people I write to and enjoy helpful insights with. Any takers? You see? I know not to walk up and ask someone their name Without telling them mine first. My first chicken was a 4-h RIR lingbtine ago.
