Hi. I'm Leslie and I'm new to this forum. We have six Chantecler chickens (laying hens), and since they are all just about identical, we call each one of them Betty. That is not to say that they don't each have their unique personalities - but they ARE hard to tell apart and the name "Betty" seems to suit each one of them. In any case, when my partner says "Betty left an egg on the floor" he isn't putting blame on the wrong chicken. He's right. It was Betty! In any case, I've already learned a great deal from being on this site and I look forward to many more interactions.

Glad you're here! And naming them all Betty is HI-larious!!!

A must have for your poultry is a FIRST AID KIT for any issues that would arise. (https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/suggestions-for-a-first-aid-kit.1150128/)
It's definitely better to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it.

Also, make sure your coop(s) have a proper amount of VENTILATION. (https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...-there-and-cut-more-holes-in-your-coop.47774/) Your chickens will absolutely thank you for it!

One last thing, if you're into gardening, feel free to join this years SEED SWAP (https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/seed-swap.1220129/)

Hi Leslie, it's nice to have you here!

In my flock are 2 Cream Legbars that look so close alike, I call them Eenie and Meenie, lol, so I know where you're coming from with your Betty's.

Thanks for joining us!
