Size of the first egg

I am a first time chicken mom . I have one hen that was already laying when i recieved her. Ialso have some Australorps and buff orpingtons that were not yet laying. I gathered eggs the other day and in the nest was a tiny brown egg. The ? is are eggs smaller when its a hens first time of laying ???? Or could it possibly just be a bird egg Thanks for the replies !!

yep...tiny eggs sometimes for first eggs. (apparently called fart eggs!)

they will get bigger....enjoy the fresh eggs...best blessings first time chicken mom!

Yes eggs can be smaller to start with.
