Slightly Sunken Foamy Eye with Pink Membranes (Photo)

Dear BYC, please help me to figure this out… My favorit White Brahma hen, Vanessa Paradis, has this two layer of pink membranes on her right eye, it doesn’t move. It’s not the third eyelid, her third eyelid still function normally… It makes her left eye sunken a little bit than the right eye. I adopt her 2 months ago, and she already has it since that, I don’t know if it is normal or not? She doesn’t look bothered and doesn’t scratch her eye so I just let it be.
Today also I noticed she has this foamy thing in the corner of her right eye, her left eye is looking normal. She doesn’t have nasal discharge, and her head doesn’t smell. She is walking, eating, and drinking normally.
Does anybody know what happened? Should I do something to treat her?

I attached another photo, of the membranes… One pink layer from under the eye overlapped by another layer right in the corner of her eye.

Looks like conjunctivitis, or Pinkeye.

Thank you for your response! I looked it up a little bit on Google, is it bacterial infection?

Is the membrane covering her eye will be permanent…? Will it cause blindness? I feel so bad not treating her the first time I saw some signs is it treatable?

I have Chloramphemicol 1% eye ointment on hand… or should I use Terramycin?

I’ve seen this often in certain strains of my Brahmas, funny it’s only my blues but that might be a coincidence. Never seen it in other breeds, don’t know if Brahmas are more prone to it. It goes away after a week usually, but make sure to monitor in case.

It's bacterial. If you can get some terramycin eye ointment, & apply it to the eye about 2-3 times a day it'll clear it up.

I've never seen it in Brahmas.

It's bacterial. If you can get some terramycin eye ointment, & apply it to the eye about 2-3 times a day it'll clear it up.

OK thank you! I’ll try to find Terramycin first thing tomorrow. Will update more after the treatment!

Do you also treat them with Terramycin? It has been 2 months she has that in her eye… I hope it will clear up soon.
