SLW x Barred Rock Chicks... maybe

It’s been a long time folks. How’s everybody doing?

I put my Foley silver laced Wyandotte cock over a dozen barred rock pullets. I expected to get females that were dark black with black beaks and feet. I expected the males to be black with a yellow spot on their head. I got a variety with four different color patterns. The likelihood of another male getting into the pen is low but not 100% impossible. Do these chicks look correct for SLW x Barred Rock?

I have several roosters but I think I have a chick with that mix. It looked like your dark chicks at first. It is showing roo signs at 5 weeks. It also is has large white stripes in the barring now. Do all the chicks have rose combs? I don't know about gender genes for the mix.

I think barred Sexlinking is overridden by lacing, but I’m not sure?

That’s not true. Usually black barred x laced results in mostly black chicks with a possibility of partial lacing. The barring goes on top of that.

Upon closer inspection of my chick it has a small crest, so it's mother is not my pure barred rock, but my barnyard mix that looks more like a barred rock than some from the hatcheries.
