I get that you are joking but there are actually ordinances in the works to ban methane gas from cow farts. I am serious. Even though I find that HILARIOUSLY retarded, it is true.

No actually I am serious.

Most new laws are hillariously retarded...as are most new lawmakers

Bans are stupid in general if ya ask me. If someone is such a dang jerk that they can't blow their stogie smoke AWAY from other non smokers...I think it should be perfectly legal to just stomp the turds out of em and be done.

Simple fix, and doesn't ruin it for everyone else. I'm aggressive toward idiots...it's my nature.

I think the issue comes from smokers who really just don't care what others feel about their habit (remember I am a smoker). I think that if ALL smokers were more respectful of other people, this would not even be a conversation. I personally have no problem with the bans in restaurants and bars. No waiter or waitress should have to be poisoned because of my habit.

We have a local club here that has a sectioned off outdoor area for smokers with heaters and tables and all. That would be nice everywhere.

Again, I don't smoke around non smokers whom it is bothersome. I ask permission to smoke MY cig in mixed company. NOT around children etc. People should just be able to slap the snot out of folks for being such jerks. It'd stop a bunch of crap before it got started

Fart and run folks and rude smokers and whoever else wouldn't do it if there were any REAL immediate repercussions, and the rest of us plain polite folks wouldn't have to listen to all this nonsense to begin with. But noooooo everybody has to hand every little tittle and jot over to the lawmakers to decide for us what we will and will not tolerate. Big government is what we're asking for in that scenario, and I've had enough of big brother already. Bans are stupid. Reasons for them are fine, but the ban itself, just takes away from our freedoms more and more. I disagree with them. Period. Even ones I agree with the cause such as this one. Just my opinion of course...

We've had no smoking laws here in most of Canada for YEARS! I love the fact that ppl are no longer allowed to smoke inside and on most patios. it allows EVERY one can go out. It used to be that there was a certain doughnut shop back home that we nvr went to for a number of reasons. 1) the shop's air was blue from smoke 2) the food tasted like old cigarette butts... YUCK.

I believe that everyone should have the freedom to do as they please but their freedoms end where mine begins and so-on.

This.

I'm afraid it opens up a slippery slope over who gets to decide what should be banned. Along with the smoking ban in WI, selling raw milk is also illegal. It too was banned for 'safety' reasons. Now where is my freedom to choose as a consumer? Once you get going banning things for the public good, how long before something you like/want is on that chopping block?

Half of what everyone likes/wants IS on the chopping block. We have given the government too much power already. That was my point as well. Smokers should just be considerate, everyone should just be considerate...or they can take a long walk off a short cliff IMO.

This is what I spoke of when talking about the smokers that will purposely blow it right in your face. I am not that smoker. I wander far and wide to stay away from non-smokers. It is like the person at work that bathes in colgne before work and makes all people asthma gag as they talk by. Have some respect people!!!!
